  • Where's the venue?

Villa Mary-Anne: the Jewel of the South Pacific, the Masterpiece of Ballysaggart Farm, the Meeting Place of Tangaroa, Rongo-mā-Tāne, and Tāwhirimātea. Walter's mum and dad's house (very very grateful M + MA xx). 306A Seaview Road, take the middle driveway between the palms and follow the signs out (also see map). The Night-Before BBQ will be just down the road at Walter's Grandma's place (very very grateful G-ma Jill!!), 306 Seaview Road, again take the middle driveway and follow the palms and signs. The Day-After will be back at Villa Mary-Anne.

  • What are the timings?

For the wedding day, please arrive by 3pm for the 3:30

    ceremony.

  • How do I get to Waiheke from Auckland?

Other than getting a chopper, there are now two ferry companies that traverse the Hauraki Gulf from the Downtown Auckland Ferry Terminal to the Waiheke Ferry Terminal at Matiatia and back: The big, evil, very convenient Fullers and the plucky, local, unfortunately unreliable Island Direct. Both of these have regular daily sailings (usually every half hour), with each one-way trip taking 45 minutes. If you are coming to Waiheke on the wedding day, you must be on the 2pm Fullers sailing. We strongly recommend booking tickets in advance, especially if you are travelling to Waiheke on the wedding day - most boats on the 9th of January will be chock full of tourists coming out to see the island. Bloody townies.

  • How do I get from the Waiheke Ferry Terminal to the wedding venue?

A bus has been arranged to pick people up off the 2pm Fullers ferry and bring them to the venue, leaving the Waiheke Ferry Terminal just before 3pm and arriving at the venue around 3:15pm. It's a bit of a windy road up to the venue so position yourself on the bus accordingly and pls don't over-indulge on the ferry :)

  • How do I get from my Waiheke accommodation to the wedding venue?

Please let us know where you're staying and we'll arrange for the bus to come and pick you up and drop you off.

  • I missed the ferry/bus! How do I get to the wedding venue?

Not to worry, there will be plenty of cabs down at the ferry terminal (the taxi rank is in the carpark behind the beach at the Waiheke ferry terminal) that will drive you to the venue, albeit at a pretty hefty fee. There's apparently Uber on the island now too! But best be on time and get the bus hey.

  • How long do I have to stay on the day?

Have to?? Get to, jeez. We're currently working to the following transport options home or back to your accommodation after the wedding:

    1) 10pm pickup SHARP for drop off back to your Waiheke accommodation or to the 11pm ferry back to Auckland

    2) 11pm pickup for drop off at Waiheke accommodation

    3) 11:30pm pickup SHARP for a drop off to the ferry terminal to get the 12:30am ferry back to Auckland

    4) 12:30 END OF THE NIGHT pickup to take you back to your Waiheke accommodation.

Please let us know where you're staying and when you'd like to leave and we will coordinate this.

  • Dress code?

Cocktail. Think summer chic, rich people on the beach, Santorini of the South. Be tasteful and timeless, we will have these photos FOR EVER. But also this is New Zealand, it's all a bit more casual than elsewhere, please don't wear a fascinator or tails or anything (although will be hot and sunny so a hat could be smart). No dress code for Night-Before or Day-After, but be sure to bring your swimming cozzies/togs/bathing suits to both. It'll be warm and sunny and we'll hopefully be outside for the entire time, but there's a chance it could get chilly at night so layer appropriately.

  • What are we eating?

We'll have caterers hanging around with nibbles and drinks straight after the ceremony and then will have a big dinner at like 6pm. Menu tbc but will be good. Chuck your dietaries on the RSVP.

  • How do I get to the venue on the Night-Before and Day-After?

You're on your own for these ones, bub. If you're lucky, you can get a lift from someone with a car but it might be safer to make some friends and co-ordinate on cabs for these. Repo Bay for the Night-Before is actually only 20 minutes around the rocks from Palm Beach (which is on the bus line) if you're feeling brave/it happens to be low tide. You're welcome to sleep under a tree on the wedding night to save having to come right back the next day too to be fair.

  • Where should I stay on Waiheke Island?

There are a range of airbnbs, hotels, and hostels on the island. We'd recommend looking for accommodation in the suburbs of Oneroa, Palm Beach, Ostend or Onetangi as these are on the bus route from the ferry terminal and are all relatively close to at least one nice beach. Please don't book accom any further east than Onetangi unless you have rented a car.

  • Can I bring my child?

No. The farm is riddled with steep cliffs and sharp edges and feral stoats. It's a deathtrap for anyone under the age of 21.

  • Can I bring my baby?

NO. I know 85% of you had a baby in 2026, but this is a cool wedding not a daycare. Leave it at home it will be fine.

  • Do you want a present?

Oh wow oh look na hey so you don't have to obviously, you'll have paid loads of money to get here and it's such a long trip and honestly your presence is the present am I right but look if you insist on something extra some $$ for the honeymoon fund would be greatly greatly appreciated. 06-0111-0706567-01 WALTER POULSEN & KATHRYN POCOCK for NZD. GBP, USD, HKD, AUD, BTC, and other global currencies can be arranged.
